Sanctuary - 316 - Awakening - Review

current mood: geeky

Here's my review of the most recent Sanctuary Episode... Safe to say that it's a pretty positive one!

Read more...Collapse )

I love Amanda Tapping but I think it's because of Jonathon Young and his portrayal of Nikola the reason why Sanctuary has become one of my favourite "can't wait each week" shows.

All it needs is a little McKay!

January 23rd, 2011 (09:38 am)

Ohh. lookie what I found trailing the net!

I must say I've never been a BIG fan of Flanigan, and don't usually watch stuff of his outside SGA (I haven't even seen Change of Plans) but this is so bad it's good!  Plus Doesn't it just scream Shepard!  Now all we need is his right hand science man!

Benedict Cumberbatch!

October 16th, 2010 (12:35 am)

First off how awesome of a name is that!  Just the combination of both together makes it sooo much better!  I wish I could claim I liked him before he was famous, aka before Sherlock (especially since I love the UK TV scene, especially BBC shows!) but alas I can't!  Acutually I nearly didn't watch Sherlock (I had no idea it was on until I noticed all the commotion on my flist AFTER A study in Pink had aired!), and finally decided to give it a go after realizing that my two favourite Doctor Who people Stephen Moffatt and Mark Gattiss were producing it, plus the added bonus that Martin Freeman was in it (I've loved him ever since Hitchhikers!)

But anyway.. aside from that...

1) After watching Sherlock and The Last Enemy.. I've thought of him as a serious actor... I've just watched the latest Have I got New For you which he guest host.... wow.. I didn't realize that he's got great comic timing too!  And now that I've heard Cabin Pressure too...  Another tick to you Mr Cumberbatch... You've certainly peaked my interest, and I'm looking forward to more of his work!

2) Sherlock's on in Australia!  Yay.. although the advertising for it is terrible!  I saw the trailer on Channel 9, and wow.. I was completely underwhelmed... jumpy, bits and peices use of boring bits... nothing dramatic or exciting.. and on top of that, after seeing all the kerfuffle in the UK about it and the fact that it got 7million viewers.. not a single article promoting Sherlock on TV!  Although too be fair there was a little bit of a positive review right on the top of the Monday (ep2) in the Herald Sun TV guide.. but you wouldn't have known if you weren't looking for it... Hopefully people tune in so we get the second season down under too

3) Yay I got to play with an ipad!  Just a loaner to 'learn how to use the ipad" it is indeed fun and convienient but I'm not sure whether it'll be worth getting one myself since I already have a laptop :p

Stephen Fry coming to Melbourne!

June 24th, 2010 (11:07 am)

Anyone in Melbourne who's a Fry fan who doesn't already know that Stephen Fry is coming to Melbourne (as well as Sydney - after a facebook outcry: http://www.theage.com.au/entertainment/theatre/facebook-cry-brings-a-bit-of-fry-to-melbourne-20100619-yo0x.html) will be severely disappointed that they won't get to see him in person!

Just 2 hours after tickets to his Melbourne show came on sale at Ticketmaster I can't seem to find anymore tickets.  It's still active saying that you can "find tickets" not the "sold out" that usually comes on when it's sold out, but when you search for tickets at any price at any selection (best available) it comes up empty/blank, and judging on twitter, no-one else seems to be able to either.  Hmm seems that it sold out probably 1 and a half hours after they came on sale.

Armegeddon Expo - Oct 17/18 2009!

October 13th, 2009 (11:07 pm)

Well.. it's on again.. and well I thought they couldn't do better than last year when they had The Hewlett and Gary Jones and Kavan Smith....

Well I was wrong! The Inner geek in me is exciting to be going again... This time the line up is even better (although you really can't beat David... )

I'll be there to see Joe Flanigan (the line for his talk will be massive.. so that means more line ups :(...) Jason Mamoa, Paul McGillion. I'll be interested in Michael Welch too, although he's there more for Twilight than SG, and the robot chicken team too (which has free signings too whoo!)

Ohh any suggestions for questions that needs asking?

Hopefully I can post a few vids and photos up :D
